Winter is a time to cure Summer skin damage.
We go to great lengths to winterize our homes and cars but forget our bodies largest organ the skin. It is important to use a different skin care regimen than summer as the winter months can be especially damaging to the skin. As the temperature drops, the wind becomes harsher and colder, and moisture becomes depleted in the skin. Even inside the home the relative humidity can often be below 60%. causing skin dehydration, scaling, and flaking itchy cracked areas. During this season the lips, elbows, knees, heels, and hands become particularly parched. UVA rays in winter are as intense and cause as much damage as UVA rays in the summer months.
